Work in Progress - Vanessa

The first time Jillian saw Flameless shapeshift into the dog on t.v., she almost missed it.  Flameless was curled up on a pillow seemingly asleep, and after the two for one taco commercial, the chihuahua from the television was in her living room.  She thought it was the wine she was drinking, but she had not had more than a few sips.  It was on sale like the t.v. tacos, two-for-one.  Maybe she drank more than she thought?

The teeth on the dog told her this was her pet dragon, and it was good she'd had some wine, or she would have shown fear and maybe have been a challenge for him.  Instead, she threw him pieces of her chicken dinner, and he backed off.  She watched him sleeping again on the pillow, his strange, clover-shaped tail flicking up and down.  Vegetarian days were over - she knew - and she wished she had found out where he belonged weeks ago before his teeth were full size.

Jillian remembers when she got her dragon, from a client - it was a gift, and at the time she didn't think it was weird.  Flameless wasn't a big pet, small really.  The size of the bunny rabbit he ate the first time she let him outside in the yard.  She tried to make him vegetarian and thought she succeeded until about a month ago.  She came home from work to find the dog, cat, bird, and dragon all missing.

Jillian knows Flameless ate the other pets.

She tried to find the information for the client who gave her the dragon with skin that changes into powdery blues, pinks, and purples.  Harmless and adorable, she thought when her client first gave him to her, and Flameless had not grown teeth.

Jillian explains Flameless to Animal Control like this: He's poisonous and lethal.  She shows them a picture of him in his dragon form, not smiling.  But they laugh.  She shows them the photo she took with his teeth.  It isn't very good, but he looks scary.  They laugh harder and tell her it's a fake, and ask if she wants the dragon back if they find him.

Jillian doesn't tell Animal Control this: Flameless doesn't always look like his picture and sometimes resembles, a puppy, a fat cat, a yellow bird, a brown rabbit, and various people he's killed.
