The Dennis' come over, all the Dennis' including Julio who has been living in San Diego since last summer. His sister comes too, she had the big party, the one where Beast drove me home.
Delucca's husband Roberto, asks "Why are there only three pies, when there are four of us?"
The men laugh about the food. Marianne has a date who brings along his son who attends the state university and it is like a real holiday party with a ton of food.
Marianne swears she isn't trying to hook me up. But Shade seems interested. She looks as if she stepped out of a winter fashion magazine for evening wear, although it's hot, a steamy eighty-nine today. It must unbearable - a turtle neck, long skirt, and tights. She wears my stilettos. You don't notice she's chubby and almost five feet. Delucca asks how I'm doing and I tell her I can't breathe.
"It looks like you haven't eaten anything in weeks," Delucca says. "But that's understandable."
"New boyfriend?" Shade asks. And she tells me the state university guy looks just like Beast.
