The Trip Upstairs is a work in progress.  It is a work of fiction.  The story is about Emily, a sixteen-year old girl that comes to live with her aunt in a neighborhood called Avocado Grove after she and her mom have moved endlessly since Emily was nine.  Almost as soon as she and her mom arrive, Emily falls in with bad boys and finds comfort in telling lies, taking trips to outer space, and in eating (and then not eating) big food.

Can a relationship with the most popular dead guy at Denman high save her from her worst addictions?
