Fanciful Friends December 7

Marianne's skirt is short and hot pink; it doesn't go past
her knees. This isn't a big deal, or it
shouldn't be. The last time she wore
this skirt, she brought a cake over to the neighbor's house. I don't know what happened there. But her outfit makes me remember the mean
girls and what I said about Marianne last year.
If I tell her all the spacy, messed up things I said, we
would have a good laugh about it. We're
not there (wherever that place is, the mushy place of forgiveness and
understanding). So while she munches her
burned toast and sips her coffee, I'm back in Vandee's class…
I tell Beast and everyone about Marianne's tattoos. At first, no one seems to care about the
butterfly, how it's like art, the million trips Marianne made to the tattoo
artist just to get it finished (and why I was angry with her about that). They only pay attention when I tell them Marianne's
butterfly is charmed in an evil way, as if it's practically occult.
